Contemporary Dining Rooms

This dining area off of an open floor plan finds its own identity with simple use of furnishings and one wall painted bing-cherry red, which is used as an accent, highlight color in the adjacent spaces.

This kitchen's millwork continues as a backdrop to the dining area, incorporating open display shelving and buffet storage area below, while a secret door leads to the master bedroom suite. The "big bang" is a pendant sculpture above the dining table.

A dramatic wood and glass oval table seating at least eight, a matching mirror and buffet and a hand-woven wool rug were all custom designed for this room. The dramatic pendant chandelier takes command of the room and supplements the adjustable halogen fixtures throughout.

This dining area was designed to make everyday dining a special event. Stained walnut cabinetry provided the perfect backdrop for the sleek styling of the furniture pieces. The palette was kept neutral to allow the clients' art collection to shine.

The enclosed kitchen and enclosed balcony cove were all opened up into one open plan where food preparation, dining and lounging by the balcony allows for al-fresco dining in the spring and fall, with magnificent views of Rock Creek Park beyond.

From the ceiling to the floor, the elements in this dining room feature straight lines. Symmetrical lighting shines onto rectangular artwork, arranged diagonally to give movement to an expansive wall. An organic centerpiece provides a natural accent, while the different textures of the fabric and furniture create an exotic feel.

Natural light floods this high-rise dining room that is the epitome of elegant simplicity.

The use of organic materials, such as the twisted centerpiece, give an abstract spin on the space and create a focal point in this dining area. Silver lamps in the adjoining living area accentuate the rest of the room.

A kitchen seamlessly transitions into a dining room in this modern, Asian-inspired home. The Poliform upper cabinets, which store dinner dishes, extend into the dining area. All white cabinets and countertops contrast with the red wall and the ebonized floor. The rest of the furniture is neutral, except for a bright cinnamon pendant above the dining table.
